Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Gitscout, including our website, Chrome extension, and recruiter dashboard. By accessing or using Gitscout, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Service Description

Gitscout helps recruiters evaluate public GitHub activity by generating structured signals, summaries, and workflow tools for candidate review and shortlisting. We may update, improve, or discontinue parts of the service at any time.

Accounts and Access

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
• You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
• We may suspend or terminate access if we detect misuse, abuse, or security risk.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service in violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or interfere with the platform.
• Misrepresent candidate information or use Gitscout for unlawful discrimination.
• Automate access in a way that degrades service performance or bypasses limits.

Billing and Subscriptions

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our billing provider, Lemon Squeezy, until cancelled. Pricing, features, and usage limits may change from time to time. Taxes may apply depending on your location.

GitHub Data and Third-Party Services

Gitscout analyzes publicly available GitHub data and may rely on third-party services to authenticate users, process payments, and power parts of the product experience. Your use of those services may also be subject to their separate terms and policies.

Intellectual Property

Gitscout and its associated branding, software, and original content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to you.

Disclaimers

Gitscout is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. Candidate evaluations and AI summaries are informational tools only and should not be the sole basis for hiring decisions. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free results.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gitscout will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from your use of the service.

Termination

You may stop using Gitscout at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if continued access poses legal, operational, or security risk.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date above. Continued use of Gitscout after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
